Terms and conditions

These are the terms for using TLCp, which is run by Time-Line Continuum. We have tried to write them the way we would say them out loud. Using the site means you accept them.

What TLCp is

TLCp is a place to record a life, a family or a project as a timeline: events with dates, descriptions and pictures, kept in order. It is a private record by default, and it is yours to share or keep private.

What you enter remains yours

Everything you enter, and every picture you upload, remains yours. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not publish it, and we do not use it to advertise anything.

You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your material, and to display it back to you and to anyone you deliberately share it with. Nothing wider than that.

Your account

Please keep your password secure, and inform us if you suspect that your account has been compromised. What happens under your sign-in is treated as performed by you, so it matters.

You are responsible for the timeline share links you create. A share link opens the timeline for whoever holds it. Share it with caution, and as carefully as you would a key.

What we ask of you

Please do not use TLCp to:

• store or share anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to use;
• publish private information about other living people who would not expect it. A family record naturally mentions other people, and that is fine. Making that record public is a decision that affects them too.
• attempt to reach another person’s timelines, or to disrupt the service.

If something is seriously wrong, we may have to suspend an account. We would rather write to you first, and we will where we can.

What it costs

TLCp does not charge you anything at present. If that changes, we will inform you by email before it applies to your account, and you will be able to decide then. We will not start charging an existing account without notice.

Keeping your material safe

We take great care of the data you entrust to us, and we perform appropriate backups. We cannot promise the site will never be unavailable, and no service can honestly promise that.

If your timeline is precious to you, and it should be, keep your own copy of anything irreplaceable as well. You can export a document of a timeline for exactly that reason.

Closing your account

You can stop using TLCp whenever you like, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything in it by writing to info@time-linecontinuum.com. We would suggest saving a copy of anything you want to keep first, because deletion is final.

If something goes wrong

We will do our best to put it right, and we would like to hear about it early rather than late. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

Beyond those rights, our responsibility is limited to putting the service right. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and you will be informed of any significant changes by email.
